Veterinary School: Texas A & M - College of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Picht has a very distinguished educational backround. She first earned her BS degree in Animal Science from Oregon State University, graduating summa cum laude. Then she went on to get her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, graduating cum laude from Texas A & M.
After graduating, she was accepted into two internship programs. The first was a combined medical and surgical internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Florida. She then accepted a surgical internship at the highly reknowned Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Sorrento Valley.
After completing the internships, Dr. Picht decided it was time to start a family and kept herself busy doing relief work and emergency shifts around San Diego County. In the summer of 2011, Dr. Picht was asked by Dr. Schiebert to join our team at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital, knowing that our clients would benefit from her vast surgical and medical experience and skills.
Dr. Picht and her husband welcomed their daughter Kaitlyn into their family in 2010. They are expecting to expand again in 2012! In the meantime, they share their house with two cats named Sambo and Doyle, and a lab hound mix named Tessa.
Dr. Picht spends all her time currently with her daughter and husband or working. But she admits that when she used to have time for hobbies, she used to enjoy Gardening, Yoga (but not for awhile), Traveling, trying out new cuisine and wine (which is a nice way of saying she loves good food).
