Health Care Team
At Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated to help train new students entering the field or wishing to persue a career in the veterinary profession. We offer unpaid internships and accept externs from local high schools, veterinary technology programs, ROP and RVT schools.
The interns and externs shadow our nurses and learn everything about how to take care of patients from cleaning the hospital and doing laundry to restraining to prepping for surgery.

Trevor is an excellent addition to the Shadowridge Veterinary Health Care Team. He comes to us with experience in many different aspects of animal medicine. Trevor was born in Utah and grew up showing horses. While he was in High School he did an internship at the renowned and award-winning San Diego Zoo. Following that, he did an internship with the North County Humane Society where he was offered a position at the end of his internship due to his reliability and love affinity for animal care. Trevor was trained as a nurse at a local veterinary hospital before he came to us in 2011. Their loss is definitely our gain as Trevor is a highly skilled and competent nurse. Veterinary nursing is a family affair for Trevor as his mom did an internship for us while studying to become an RVT. Now if we could recruit his twin brother we would have the whole team! Currently, Trevor is a student as SDSU studying geography with an emphasis on environmental policy. While we know our time with him is limited we are happy to have him while we can and look forward to the time when he becomes an environmental activist and works on makong the planet a better place for future generations.

Katie did her internship with us through the ROP program and we were thrilled to have a position avaiable to offer her when she completed the program. Katie is one of the most reliable, hard-working people on the health care team. She is always willing to jump in and help whenever and wherever she is needed and has a keen interest in learning all there is to know about nursing. You can ask Katie to do something she has never done at any time and she will answer "let's do it! Just show me how!". Katie has two very energetic Jack Russel Terriers that keep her extremely busy when she is not helping to care for the patients and boarders at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital. Katie is going to have a long successful career in animal medicine and we are happy to have her.
